found an example at macy's in daly city serramonte shopping center. >> all the last minute stuff i got but i a got a few to go. >> richard is last minute shopper. the stores in the mall have some kind of enticement like him. there are some offering discounts even up to 57% off but one store in the mall that offering full two days of shopping and sales is macy's. this is one of more of the 800 stores nationwide that is staying open a full 48 hours. the idea is to make sure that last minute shoppers can find a store open whatever the hour. it worries frank. >> i'm concerned about, who are they going to have come in at 3:00 in the morning and shop? >> some 57 macy's stores will stay open round the clock until christmas eve. down the peninsula in san mateo bridge point shopping center, toys 'r' us will stay open 24 hours until christmas eve. >> it's nice because i've had work all we will week so it's nice to be open 24 hours. i can get my gifts for my family. >> they say it's too late to shop on line because the gifts won't be delivered by christmas day. so a 24-hour store is a good idea.

to live in daly city or down the peninsula or across to the east bay, so i think creating the will neighborhoods that are accessible and friendly to families, so the number of units that are built or the number of bedrooms and the types of units that are built. parking is going to be one of the other issues. i, of course, support san francisco being a leader, but i also see at times that people may need that car, especially if you have a family, to get your kids from treasure island, one of the developments in san francisco, instead of being isolated by being on the island. we have to look at trends and policies from a perspective also of the needs of families as well. >> let's talk a little bit more about transportation, specifically in your district. how is muni service? what about parking, traffic? >> san francisco's transportation system i believe has a lot of great qualities. we have good bustlines in our richmond district. i'm always looking at creating more efficiencies and finding where the needs are. there have been some cuts over the years, so -- to bus lines, li

rain all the way down into daly city and it looks like it's shifting down into the bay area as well pass oakley and birkly. our camera shots are -- berkeley. our camera shots are showing this is not hitting but it will. by 9:00 or so it should be in the south bay. in addition to the rain we're dealing with winds. 10 to 20 miles an hour in some cases. the bay area as well pass the coast dealing with a wind advisory until 10:00 this morning. these winds coming from the south which means if you are crossing the bay bridge, the richmond san rafael, it's blowing right against your car. it will be treacherous in some cases. we have a winter storm warning for the sierra. this parent system here will just hang around saturday and sunday bringing us a new storm for each day. at this hour by 8:00, it's beginning to shift into the central bay, and then scattered showers will remain in the forecast throughout the afternoon. our evening is going to be a bit soggy. periods of rain on and off with mostly cloudy skies. so be prepared for that as you get outdoors and maybe do some holiday shopping.

daly city was killed in a police chase in pasadena. cbs 5 reporter joe vazquez went to the family's neighborhood. joe. >> reporter: you can see this apartment building behind me. this is where the ing family makes their home. they were in pasadena visiting relatives on christmas day. riding in a van, police were chasing a suspect through the streets. that suspect vehicle smashed into the van and killed two cousins including 11-year-old kendrick ing. let this is a photo according to kendrick's neighbor rita, she identified him from this facebook picture. she says the boy was always involved with sports and school and that his father was devoted to his children. [ crying ] >> the dad and boy would always travel together and see them together all the time. [ crying ] >> the father was always the one taking them to school... i would see them back and forth coming from sports and then... [ crying ] >> reporter: kendrick was killed, his other three-family members were involved in that crash at least two of them are still in the hospital. police are investigating this as possibly related
